TREES FOR HOMES
Program Elements
Residential Tree Plantings
Using funding from grants and donations, we're able to plant trees for Southern Oregon residents in disadvantaged, urban areas who otherwise wouldn't be able to afford trees. We also commit to providing essential establishment maintenance for at least the first 3 years of the tree's life to ensure our trees not only survive, but thrive!
Hazardous Tree Replacement
Tree removal is expensive making dead and hazardous trees a barrier to achieving adequate canopy coverage in low-income urban areas. We remove these barriers by providing removal and replacement services at no cost to disadvantaged communities, often times planting many more in place of the one removed.
Tree Preservation
The only thing better than planting a tree, is preserving one that's already mature! The bigger the tree, the more benefits it provides. We work with residents across Southern Oregon to help mitigate risks that otherwise lead to tree removal.
Workforce Development
We provide hands-on training and education for both students and paid interns from our community to expand the green industry workforce. Our team prioritizes engaging part-time, paid positions to assist will all aspects of the work we do.
Community Enagagement
At the heart of our work is the people we do it for: our community. While our small team works hard to expand the urban canopy, we know we can't do it alone. That's why we focus on empowering our community to be advocates alongside us through edication and hands-on learning opportunities.
