Pear Blossom Park: Working Together Towards A Greener Tomorrow
Project Overview:
- Addressing tree equity in frontline communities of Medford, Oregon.
- Enhance canopy coverage, climate resilience, and community well-being.
- Engage arborists and urban foresters to help provide education and community engagement.
Project Goals:
- Increase canopy coverage from 6% to 30% in 15 years.
- Replace 9 dead street trees (Phase 2 - November 2024).
- Remove and modify metal tree grates.
- Implement soil conditioning and irrigation adjustments.
- Engage local arborists and secure in-kind donations and match funding.
- Ensure the survival and growth of 40+ newly establishing park trees.
- Stump grind or remove existing stumps and prepare for fall planting.
