      • 3-Tier Planting Program

More shade. More community. More trees where they're needed most.

      • Our three-tier pricing model makes professional tree planting accessible to more households while expanding Southern Oregon's urban canopy through community-supported giving.

        Section image

        Canopy Tier - $1,200

Pay it forward by sponsoring a tree planting for a local family while growing your own landscape with three trees.

        Section image

        Heartwood Tier - $485

Plant one tree at the true market cost of professional installation while supporting our mission.

        Section image

        Understory Tier - $60

Reduced-cost tree planting for households where cost would otherwise be a barrier, made possible by grants and community support.

      • Canopy Rate - $1,200

For individuals, businesses, or organizations with resources and the wish to extend the canopy beyond their own property. When you choose the Canopy Rate, you're not only receiving three trees for your own landscape, you’re also paying it forward, covering one Understory Rate planting for a local family in need. The portion of your cost that covers an Understory Rate planting is a tax-deductible donation toward our charitable work.

Canopy Rate clients are also invited to:

        • Be recognized as a planting sponsor in Rooted in the Rogue, our monthly newsletter, or remain anonymous.
        • Dedicate your contribution in someone's honor. Celebrate a birthday, a memory, or a milestone, and we'll send a card letting them know a tree is growing in their name where the canopy is needed most.

Canopy Rate covers all planting services for three trees including initial consultation with a certified arborist, tie-in to existing irrigation, mulch, fertilizer, and our 1-year warranty (when applicable). Review our warranty policy here.

Note: These prices cover planting services and do not include the cost of the tree itself. If you live within our Trees For All service area, you may be eligible to purchase subsidized trees from Plant Oregon Nursery, with tree costs starting as low as $80 per tree.

      • Heartwood Rate - $485

For individuals who can afford tree planting while still meeting their needs without significant hardship. Most clients find that Heartwood Rate fits their situation best. Our Heartwood Rate covers the cost of one tree planting, with additional trees planted at the same property for $155 each. By choosing us to plant your tree(s), you're supporting our mission and helping expand resilient urban tree canopy across Southern Oregon.

Heartwood Rate covers all planting services for one tree, including initial consultation with a certified arborist, tie-in to existing irrigation, mulch, fertilizer, and our 1-year warranty (when applicable). Review our warranty policy here.

Note: These prices cover planting services and do not include the cost of the tree itself. If you live within our Trees For All service area, you may be eligible to purchase subsidized trees from Plant Oregon Nursery, with tree costs starting as low as $80 per tree.

      • Understory Rate - $60

For households where full price would mean real strain. You might be managing debt, supporting others on limited income, or rebuilding after fire or job loss. Plantings at this rate are made possible through grant support and community members paying at the Canopy Rate, so availability will vary throughout the year. After a site evaluation, we'll add you to our waitlist and contact you to schedule once funding is secured.

Understory Rate covers all planting services for one tree, including initial consultation with a certified arborist, tie-in to existing irrigation, mulch, fertilizer, and our 1-year warranty (when applicable). Review our warranty policy here.

Note: These prices cover planting services and do not include the cost of the tree itself. If you live within our Trees For All service area, you may be eligible to purchase subsidized trees from Plant Oregon Nursery, with tree costs starting as low as $80 per tree.

      • FAQs

What areas does this program service?

We are proud to serve residents throughout Jackson and Josephine Counties. Our office is located in Talent, Oregon, and planting locations within 40 miles of our office are eligible for the program.

If your planting location is more than 40 miles from our office, additional travel fees may apply. Please contact OURCF to confirm eligibility and discuss available options for your location.

        What qualifies as existing irrigation?

An existing irrigation system includes a drip line or spigot within 50 feet of each planting location. Young trees can't survive Southern Oregon summers without reliable water, so irrigation must be in place before we plant.

Need a system installed? We're happy to quote the installation of a drip system at your consult.

Where should I purchase trees and how much do they cost?

OURCF’s tree warranty only applies to trees purchased from Plant Oregon Nursery in Talent or another nursery that provides equivalent quality nursery stock. We recommend purchasing from Plant Oregon Nursery to ensure your tree meets our quality standards and is eligible for warranty coverage.

If you choose to purchase a tree from another nursery, the tree will be inspected by the OURCF planting team before installation. Trees that meet our quality standards may be eligible for warranty coverage, while trees that do not meet our quality standards may still be planted but will not be eligible for warranty coverage.

For more information about our tree warranty policy, click here.

Through our Trees For All program, residents may be eligible to purchase trees from Plant Oregon Nursery at a subsidized rate starting at $80 per tree. Learn more about the program and how to participate here.

What size are the tree(s) and how do they arrive at my property?

Trees provided through our planting program are typically 1.5–2" caliper and arrive in 21–22" diameter grow bags. Height varies by species, but the majority of trees are over 6 feet tall at the time of planting.

Please do not purchase your tree ahead of time. Instead, let us know which species you are interested in, and we will coordinate the tree selection, pickup, and transportation to your property. We currently provide pickup and delivery only from Plant Oregon Nursery, so your selected species must be available there.

Interested in a larger tree? We can often accommodate larger trees, but additional costs may apply due to increased equipment and transportation needs.

If you choose to purchase a smaller tree from another nursery, please see “Where should I purchase trees and how much do they cost?” for information about how our warranty applies. Please note that selecting a smaller tree does not reduce the planting price.

What tree species are available through the program?

Any tree species included in our Tree Catalog is eligible for planting through the program. However, Plant Oregon Nursery does not carry every species in our catalog. They grow most of them, but availability and tree size vary by year and season.

We recommend using our catalog to identify a few species you are interested in, then contacting our team to confirm current availability. If Plant Oregon does not have your preferred species but you are able to purchase it from another nursery, we can generally plant it as long as the species is included in our catalog. Please note that trees purchased from other nurseries may not be covered by our warranty, depending on the quality of the nursery stock.

Not sure which species is right for your property? Our team is happy to help with species selection during your in-person consultation or over the phone. Call us at 541-215-8137 or email OURCF@OURCF.org.
