      • COMMUNITY FORESTRY

      • Municipal Partnerships & Urban Forestry Planning

Partnering with local governments to fund, plan, engage, and execute climate-resilient urban forestry initiatives.

OUR Community Forestry acts as a turnkey project delivery partner for local governments. From project coordination to bilingual outreach and ordinance reviews, we do the heavy lifting to turn urban forestry goals into completed projects.

        Project Coordination & Grant Management

We manage the day-to-day administrative and technical workload required by state and federal grants.

        • Coordinating Technical Advisory Committees (TACs) and inter-agency partnerships.
        • Tracking schedules, deliverables, and monthly grant progress reports.
        • Aligning work directly with City Arborists, Parks Planners, and Public Works staff.

        Targeted Bilingual & School Outreach

We extend your reach beyond standard city council meetings and public notices.

        • Designing dual-language (English/Spanish) educational and workshop materials.
        • Partnering with Title 1A elementary schools to integrate tree curriculum and campus planting projects.
        • Engaging middle and high school students for volunteer and service-learning opportunities.

Surveying, Policy & Urban Forest Management Plans

We gather the ground-level data and policy groundwork cities need for long-term planning.

        • Designing and deploying citywide community forestry surveys with equity and demographic tracking.
        • Reviewing existing city tree ordinances and planning documents.
        • Drafting outlines and frameworks for future Urban Forest Management Plans (UFMPs).

        Planting Logistics & Maintenance Plans

We translate plans into physical canopy on the ground.

        • Planning and executing volunteer tree planting events in public spaces and parks.
        • Designing subsidized tree planting program frameworks and application processes for residential areas.
        • Establishing multi-year establishment and maintenance plans for planted trees.

with the City of Central Point

Planning the future of the city's urban forest

In partnership with the City of Central Point Parks & Recreation Department, OURCF serves as the lead project coordination partner on a grant-funded urban forestry initiative that aims to improve city-wide canopy equity and climate resilience.

        Project Highlights & Deliverables:

        • Technical Leadership: Co-led the formation and facilitation of the Central Point Technical Advisory Committee (TAC).
        • Community Surveying: Developed and launched a city-wide survey capturing resident priorities on shade, extreme heat, and canopy equity.
        • School & Youth Integration: Created tailored lesson modules and hands-on planting projects with Title 1A elementary schools and local district partners.
        • Policy Blueprint: Conducted policy and ordinance reviews to build the foundation for Central Point's upcoming Urban Forest Management Plan.
