City of Central Point
Urban & Community Forestry Planning & Program Development
Our Community Forestry is proud to partner with the City of Central Point on their newly awarded grant program, working together to complete essential urban forestry projects that will strengthen the community’s urban canopy and benefit the surrounding region.
This Work Includes:
Forming a Technical Advisory Committee (TAC)
The TAC is committee that meets monthly and works to guide the program prioirties in an effective and equitable trajectory.
Conducting a community survey
The community survey is open to all Central Point residents and aims to better understand residents' needs and perspectives regarding the trees in their communitiy.
Hosting educational community events
Community events are meant to enagage the communtiy with their local government and current urban forestry program. Events are always family-friendly and aim to provide fun, educational opportunities for all ages.
Reviewing City policies
We aim to create change not only during the duration of the grant award, but long into the future by assisting the City with a long-term urban forest plan to ensure the community of Central Point benefits from a healthy canopy for generations to come.
Hosting a tree planting event
On April 25th, 2026 we will be hosting a tree planting event in celebration of Arbor Month. It is a fun way to spend a day outside connecting with your community while learning about urban tree planting and care. The event is free and open to all ages and levels of ability.
